Important points to look at for compliance to SANS 1539:
1. Ensure that replaceable jets are permanently and legibly marked with an identification mark
2. All space heaters connected to a fixed gas pipe system shall be fitted with a test point
3. A test point fitted to any appliance to verify the pressure shall be readily accessible
4. A fryer shall incorporate a thermostat to control the temperature of the oil in each pan
5. A flame-failure device shall be fitted to domestic built-in appliances, commercial fryers and commercial ovens
6. A regulator fitted to any appliance shall carry a valid LPGSA safe appliance permit.
7. A hose fitted to any appliance shall have a compliance certificate in accordance with SANS 1156-2, EN 16436-1 or AS 1869
8. An standard inlet connection shall comply with the requirements of Figure 1
9. Where a non-standard inlet connection is fitted a tolerance drawing and clamping method shall be provided
10. A leak test with an air pressure of 22 kPa shall be done on all appliance with a pressure not exceeding 5 kPa
11. Labelling shall be provided with each appliance RA Heaters Marking
12. All appliances shall have a user instruction manual Additional Information
13. All electrical components on appliance rated in excess of 40 V, shall have a SANS 60335-1/2 compliance report
14. The copper alloy material on water heaters shall have a SANS 6509 report and the penetration reading shall not exceed 250 μm
